How We Began
From One Act of Kindness to a Movement
A Divine Helping Hand was founded on the conviction that faith without action is incomplete. What began as a small group of individuals coming together to make a difference in our community, sharing ideas and resources, has grown into a thriving community outreach organization touching hundreds of lives each year.
Rooted in the belief that it truly takes a village to provide the compassion and care that every person needs to have hope for a better tomorrow. We continue to show up — through food fundraisers, community outreach, and youth based mentorship programs — extending grace to those who need it most.

After years of faithfully serving their community. John and Anessa Davenport along with their son William Dorsey Jr. founded A Divine Helping Hand Inspired by a shared vision to help others and guided by their faith, they established the organization to turn compassion into action for families and individuals in need.

Youth Outreach Program Coordinator
William Dorsey Jr, 16, a teenage entrepreneur who serves as the Youth Outreach Program Coordinator for A Divine Helping Hand. With more than six years of experience serving alongside community outreach efforts, William brings passion, leadership, and a genuine heart for helping young people like himself succeed.
Amoni Jones
Senior Care Coordinator
With over 30+years in nursing, working closely with seniors, their families, caregivers, and community partners to identify needs, coordinate services, and advocate for programs that improve daily living. Through compassion, patience, and a commitment to excellence, I strive to create meaningful relationships that foster trust, hope, and a sense of belonging. At A Divine Helping Hand, I am honored to support our mission of strengthening lives through service, ensuring that every older adult we serve feels valued, respected, and cared for with love.
